Can we all agree that April is a little strange? There are random days where it just rains (or snows!) and out of nowhere there are a bunch of absolutely gorgeous sunny days. That’s why this month, I’m all about skipping routines and mixing it up with indoor and outdoor workouts.

Don’t forget, April is Earth Month and there are a bunch of wellness-themed things going on. So, let’s love our planet and ourselves with these five things wellness that I’m currently craving.

Five-Things-Wellness

1. Online Workouts with FitnessGlo

Time is of the essence and even if we have routines, they don’t always make it into our schedules. Online fitness videos allow more flexibility into our daily lives.

FitnessGlo is a monthly subscription based website with over 600 online video classes to stream. It’s only $12 per month and they offer a 15-day-free trial. The site offers a bunch of different classes such as barre, pilates, stretch, and yoga fusion.

2. Outdoor Yoga

Take advantage of sunny days by bringing your yoga mat outdoors. If you’re in the Philadelphia area, you have to try the free yoga classes offered at  Yoga on the Banks at 25th & Locust and Yoga at Race Street Pier (click for schedules).

Indulge in all the benefits of yoga and then some. Directly exposing your skin to sunlight allows your body to make some Vitamin D, which helps the body absorb calcium.

Or search online for outdoor yoga is your area. Lululemon offers free classes to the community weekly and brings the salutations outside when it’s nice out. You can search for a store in your area. Or try taking your mat to the backyard/deck/front yard/beach, or placing your mat next to an open window for some natural sunlight sans stepping outside.

P.S. Don’t skimp on the sunscreen!

3. Mini Bowls to Pre-Portion Snacks

Research shows that we tend to eat more food when food is in larger containers. Snack smarter (and more stylish) with a few cute bowls. The ones pictured above are from Fishs Eddy and they have a lid, so you can toss your favorite snacks in your bag.

I’ve rounded up 5 vintage and retro-inspired mini bowls for pre-portioning snacks here.

4. Athleisure Trend: Pops of Color

Lately I’ve been wearing a whole lot of all black everything. Black is very easy to style, but I’m in need of a little color. I’ve been slowly incorporating color  back into my wardrobe with pops of color.

Case in point: These hot pink Nikes.

{ Shopping Tip } Find designer activewear for less at stores like Nordstrom Rack or Saks Off 5th. I found those Nikes at Nordstrom Rack for less than $30.

5. Athleta Shop For A Cause Shopping Party

April is Earth Month and more specifically, April 22nd is Earth Day. Philadelphia ladies, join Athleta in Rittenhouse Square and celebrate with their in-store shopping party. This event goes from 5-8pm and 10% of event proceeds will be donated to the Clean Air Council.

A bunch of Athleta locations have Earth Day events. Find an Athleta location near you to see what’s up.
