Winter is coming! Thankfully the weather wasn’t freezing the day we did these pics.
It’s time to layer up, mix textures, and think about gift giving. I gotta tell you, this cardi-vest combination has been giving me life and is perfect to wear for holiday gatherings and shopping, among other places. In this look I’m warm, not bogged down with too much fabric, and feel photo ready (when I opt to leave the house with makeup on).
The vest is by a pajama company called Pajama Salvage (linked below) so the lining basically makes it feel like you are wearing a blanket. I stopped by JAX Boutique right before meeting up with my blog photog, saw it, tried it on, and bought on the spot. Three minutes later I’m posing in it, in front of the store for this street-stylish post. This in not the first time I’ve worn something right out of the store. Actually, just did that over the weekend with a beanie and scarf. I did say winter is coming.
{ Style Tips }
1. Add warmth to your legs when in a short, tee-shirt dress by adding over-the-knee boots. Not only do they keep you feeling far warmer than hosiery, they also make your dress into a whole different look – see how I styled this mock-neck dress previously.
2. Layer a furry vest over a cardigan. I am all about layering (plus I’m always cold) and the sweater/vest combo keeps your core warm and arms free to move around. This is the kind of layered look that’s ideal for shopping, as I like to avoid carrying a coat while perusing potential holiday gifts.
3. Long necklaces work well with flowing fabrics. This mock-neck dress has some swing to it, so the long necklace is an ideal accessory for bringing the silhouette closer to my body. Plus, with lots all the layers I like the bling to be a little bold.
