Holy hot temps! We took these pics in the summer swelter in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, of course! I love living so close to this amazing city, but dressing for these hot temps without showing too much skin can be a challenge. Makeup melts off and clothing must be light or else it will be covered in sweat. TMI? Maybe, but it’s true.
So when shooting these looks I knew they’d have to be outfits that could beat the heat. A cotton skirt + a tank top is about as easy and breezy as it can get. Add a few accessories and voila, an outfit fit for wherever the hot day goes. I plan on wearing some version of this again this weekend, since we are scheduled for some seriously steamy days.
{ Style Tips }
1. Hot temps call for light, airy colors and fabrics.
2. Outside for the day? A big-brimmed hat is a must-have accessory. It will help block the sun from your face and enable you to actually see in the bright sun. I ALWAYS bring a hat to the pool or beach so I can read my book or magazine with ease.
3. Afraid of long skirts? Look for one with a subtle high-low hemline to elongate. Plus it will allow you to show off your shoes.
4. A little pop of color goes a long way.
