Is it me or do these pics have a slight Halloween vibe? Maybe it’s the location (the church at my alma mater, Cabrini College), or the the dark lip + dark hair + dark clothing. I tend to wear lighter colors close to my hair to brighten up my look, which is maybe why I naturally finished the outfit with an olive topper. Is there a color you avoid close to your face? For me, it’s usually black, since by hair is so dark and it’s just a whole lot of darkness.
I’m wearing a few of my fall-fashion obsessions — neutrals, olive, mustard, dark lips, boots, and a hands-free bag. Um, how did I not find out about this clutch sooner? It’s the perfect little bag for shopping around the city with friends or heading to happy hour — or both, I like both, in that order.
{ Style Tips }
1. Wear funky socks if you feel like it. I did, so I did. I especially like to switch up the look of my ankle boots with different sock choices.
2. Layer a long-sleeve top under a short-sleeve dress to warm up your look. It will completely transform your dress, plus layering looks SO lovely.
3. Relax the look by rolling the sleeves. If you come here often then you know I absolutely love a little rolling of sleeves and cuffing to my jeans and leggings. It’s those little touches that make an outfit look styled and yet, effortless.

{ Dare To Wear } a blog series dedicated to “dare to wear” the same thing three ways. If you’re gonna buy it, you better be able to wear it at least three ways, right? Each month a new item is featured and styled throughout the month. Photos by Audrey Gallagher.
