Like my dress? Thanks! I got it at a consignment shop and tend to wear it more than other maxis I’ve paid much more for.

Why? The cut is so complementary, even on my 5’2 1/2 frame. The fabric is super light (perfect for the heat wave we’ve been having), but not sheer. Oh, and there’s a slit.

I’ve worn this baby casual as well as more dressed up … and to think I almost didn’t buy it!

Why? Well, like I said, it’s from a consignment shop. It’s not that I don’t shop thrifted threads (I actually love to!). I found this fab find while I was selling some of my stuff to Plato’s closet. When I’m cleaning out my closet I try not to pack it right back up, but this maxi was special. For one, it wouldn’t need to be hemmed. So I tried it on and never looked back.

{ Style Tips }

1. Accessorize your hair to beat the heat. Sometimes it’s just too hot out for a big statement necklace. A headband or pretty clip keeps hair out of your face and leaves less of a need for jewelry.

2. Pick a maxi dress with a high waist to elongate your legs. I’m under 5’3 and yet, this long style works. Why? Because it goes in right below the bust, making the lower half appear way longer.

3. Dress it up with an evening bag. I’ve got a few vintage favorites that I turn to often. A little beaded clutch has a way of taking this from the beach to perhaps a beach wedding?
