So much for faux glowing myself before snapping these outfit pictures. When I picked out this look I wasn’t planning on appearing so pale. In fact, this maxi dress looks quite nice with a tan. I may like myself more with a little color, but like in life, you gotta do your best with what you’ve got. So I threw my arms up hoping I’d at least appear taller. Did it work?

Style Tips

1. Keep it casual with a jean vest to add a little coverage.

2. Skip lip gloss and opt for a tinted balm or stain. Gloss gets so sticky and makes outdoor enjoyments with hair down ultra annoying. I’m wearing FRESH Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in berry. It feels like Chapstick, only better, and adds sheer color.

3. If you’re short try sheer. I’m a 5’3 so know the pain of not loving every maxi dress. That being said, we shorties can rock the style as long as the fit is right (should cinch to show figure), and a maxi with sheerness is a great way to show skin, break up the look, and also get a little breeze.

4. Make sure shoes match dress length. Flat shoes go with maxis that hit your ankle and longer maxis pair with heels or wedges with a complimentary height.
