I visited my friends over at The Better Show last week to talk coats for your body type. It’s finally coat weather, so bundle up in style.  Here are my tips for finding the right coat for your figure. Click here to watch the clip: Coats for Your Body Type.

Look 1: Petite

RIGHT FIT go for something short and compact. Try a bright color to add style or sleek accents (such as leather sleeves) that won’t overwhelm your small frame.

WRONG FIT coats that are too long, big, bulky, or with lots of embellishments.

Coat: a short, pea coat with faux leather sleeves from Aeropostale (on sale for under $50!)

Look 2: Athletic

RIGHT FIT add shape to an athletic build by picking a coat with a feminine cut and creates curves, such a coat with a drawstring at the waist or a belt. This shape can easily pull off bold prints.

WRONG FIT anything boxy or without shape.

Coat: a short wrap coat that creates curves from JCPenney (on sale for $120).

Look 3: Bigger Bust

RIGHT FIT try a zippered coat that cinches in slightly at the waist, to highlight curves while not bringing more attention to the chest area.

WRING FIT puffy coats that make your waist go missing and and steer clear of buttons, that can pucker with a bigger bust.

Coat: a chevron coat that cinches at the waist and zippers close. $102 at Lulu*s.

Look 4: Pear Shape

RIGHT FIT DO even out proportions by opting for a coat that draws attention upward. A fur collar adds more shape up top, balancing out the hips.  Also look for styles with shoulder pads, wide collars, or that are cut to go slightly inward at the bottom.

WRONG FIT  short and tight and big prints.

Coat: a structured coat with large fur collar, bring the eye upward. Coat ($154.99) &  sherpa scarf ($24.99) from Kohl’s.

Nice video! I think a trench coat look is so classic. Also, love your boots! Where are they from?

I don’t know whether it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing problems with
your site. It appears as if some of the written text within your posts are running off the
screen. Can someone else please provide feedback and
let me know if this is happening to them
too? This might be a problem with my browser because I’ve had this happen
previously. Appreciate it
