Deck the halls, darling! For this photo session it was simply too freakin’ cold to shoot outside. Heck, it was too cold for tights. So we moved it indoors and I made myself comfortable at my lovely photographer’s place. She made me dark coffee with extra sugar and then snapping began, not a bad way to start the day.
Okay now, let’s get down to the outfit. If you haven’t guessed, the Dare To Wear item on repeat this month is the sweater. It’s TOMS for Target and so this gift I treated myself to also gives back. 1. Sweaters and leather play nice together. Knits give the cozy feel, while leather (faux in this case) adds a sleekness. United they create a balance look — not too dressed up or edgy, or too relaxed. It’s the right amount of casual comfort with holiday sparkle.

This is one are you can really have fun with and turn a drag dress to fab. I have tons of tights – colors, polka dots, stars, and more. Sometimes I go nuts looking for the right pair when getting dressed (I need to give them a proper storage space) but a certain tight can really tie a look together or add an unexpected element.
3. A little monochrome goes a long way. When people meet me that know me from the blog and on TV and social media, they are often surprised that I’m only 5’3. This even happens at coffee dates with new clients. I’m actually flattered, as it’s a compliment to my styling skills. A black skirt + black tights + black boots = long lines. Elongate with this tip in any color. It even works with jeweled pantyhose.
4. Accessorize with your hosiery. Add some fun hosiery to your style arsenal. The right tight can make the whole outfit. Don’t be afraid to try a print, color, or even bejeweled tights.
