I just love this time of year. In terms of dressing, this is the season I vibe with most. You can wear a halter top with white jeans and flannel one week, then style that top with Topshop sale-rack shorts and a faux-leather jacket the next.  So yeah, that’s basically what I did, though I actually take a month’s worth of pictures at once. It’s smart blogging and also forces me to outfit plan, which comes in very handy later when I’m low on time and don’t know what to wear (aka all the time!).

Style Tips

1. Tuck your shirt. It’s slimming. Wearing a high-waisted bottom kind of requires you to tuck to create a more hourglass silhouette. Don’t question it.

2. Wear your jacket on your shoulders. This is a seriously chic styling trick and it makes a casual topper feel more polished. I like to do this at events where there’s no area for coats. Then I’m not sweltering and still feel fashionable.

3. Add a unique personal touch with vintage jewelry. If you’re an avid Trend Hungry reader, then you know I often opt for vintage accessories and even sell my curations at a couple boutiques under the name Bling Babe. It’s impossible for me not to wear vintage costume jewelry. I’ve been rocking it since I was a kid and I love that each piece feels exclusive and one-of-a kind because you can’t buy it everywhere.

{DARE TO WEAR} a blog series dedicated to “dare to wear” the same thing three weeks in a row. If you’re gonna buy it, you better be able to wear it at least three ways, right? Each month a new item is featured and will be styled three ways over three weeks. Photos by Audrey Gallagher.
