Take inventory of your wardrobe and make updates.  It’s a little more fun to get dressed for the day in spring & summer and these lines make high style easy and affordable.

To Tommy From Zooey

New Girl star, Zooey Deschanel has teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger to create a capsule collection of vintage, all-American inspired dresses.  Pieces debuted this April in Macy’s locations and online at macys.com with prices ranging from $98 to $199, with accessories for less.  The two joined forces after meeting by chance at the home of a mutual friend.  They realized they both shared a love for vintage fashion, music and film, which sparked the idea for the collection.  The line also includes some affordable accessories; including this adorable Oversized Anchor Necklace that I just ordered. Looking at some of the items makes me feel like a 60’s summer day, full of shift dresses, nautical stripes and polka dots.  However, I will substitute the beehive hair for a heavy bang.

Peter Som for Kohl’s DesigNation

The second designer collaboration on my list goes to Peter Som.  Drawing on inspiration from the beautiful island of St. Barth’s, this collection is full of flirty, feminine and colorful pieces that scream ‘VACATION’.  Not to be confused with tacky vacation; no hula shirts here! There are, however, plenty of stylish dresses, shorts, tanks and skirts that can easily be mixed and matched.  If that’s not enough, did I mention that every item in the collection is priced under $100?  Spring fashion doesn’t get much easier than this.  I have my eyes on the Palm Leaf Bomber Jacket.

GX By Gwen Stefani for ShoeDazzle

As if this platinum power mom doesn’t have enough going on already, here she comes with an affordable accessories brand, created exclusively for ShoeDazzle.  I’m not complaining as both the bags and shoes in this line aren’t a far cry from her more popular (and more expensive) L.A.M.B line.  With a color palette of red, white, cobalt, and black you can see that GX is reflective of Gwen’s signature edgy and chic style.  Platforms, wedge sandals, and single sole heels are all part of this collection with prices from $25 to $89.

One To Watch: Alexander Wang x H&M

Alexander Wang has been my favorite designer for years now, so I can’t really begin to convey the excitement when I heard of this announcement. His Rocco Bag changed my life and sadly, I’m not kidding. I look forward to his sample sale every year.  In the past, H&M has teamed up with amazing high-end designers including Lanvin, Marni, Victor & Rolf and Givenchy to name a few.  Wang will be the first American fashion designer to collaborate with H&M; creating men’s and women’s clothing and accessories for the famous retailer.  Pricing and designs have not yet been released, as the collection won’t hit stores until November 4th.  Sorry ladies! I would guess that if it’s like any of the aforementioned collaborations, there will be plenty of pieces for every pocket size.  After all, it is H&M.

We’ve all fallen victim to compromising style for affordability and vice versa.  This list is proof that those days are over.  You can have great style at affordable prices.  Is there a new brand or store that you’d like to tell us about? Please do!  We’d love to hear about it in the comment section below.
