Fall fashion is upon us and our makeup has to change with the season. And this season’s lustful color for lips and nails is a dark cherry also known as oxblood. At the Emmy Awards,  Kat Dennings, Jena Malone, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus sported the sexy shade on their gowns, but celebs like Camilla Belle & Kate Bosworth added the shade to their lips months ago. Infuse this color trend by swapping out your bright pinks and oranges from summer and take a dark turn towards the vampy hue.

Some of these deep shades are so dark they border on black and purple, so don’t be afraid to ease into the trend to avoid going too dark.

When applying a dark color, first exfoliate lips (here’s a quick DIY lip exfoliant). Then apply color directly from the tube for darkest results. While this trend is popular for the winter months, be sure to give your skin some color with bronzer or blush to avoid a creepy vampire look.
