And now, time for another edition of Dare To Wear, the blog series that keeps the fashions in rotation so that outfit remixes can be made. The more you play with your clothes the more ideas you’ll come up with (I type from experience).
This long-and-lovely tank top with a slitted skirt may not be my initial instinct, but when I want to create three different looks using the same piece it pushes me to rework the wardrobe. The result = new outfits! Can’t be mad at that. I’m especially not mad at this look and will be keeping in mind for the next time I need to look happy-hour chic. The top keeps it ladylike with a relaxed vibe, while the slit adds a splash of sexiness.
{ Style Tips }
1. Wear a belt. A belt is the accessory that brings things in and helps to create that hourglass shape.
2. Borrow from a friend to get the look just right. I forgot my bag of jewelry at home (couldn’t even believe it!) so borrowed the sunnies in the previous look and bracelet from my friend Kate, who also assisted on the shoot and scouted this great location.
3. Carry yourself with confidence. It really is the secret sauce to looking your best. Wear it and work it.
4. Accessorize your accessories & embrace the unexpected. The tassel (it’s a DIY coming up!) clipped onto the hat may be my favorite thing about this whole look. It’s a little detail that’s the perfect unexpected accent.

{ Dare To Wear } a blog series dedicated to “dare to wear” the same thing three ways. If you’re gonna buy it, you better be able to wear it at least three ways, right? Each month a new item is featured and will be styled throughout the month. Photos by Audrey Gallagher.

Love this look! Belting the top is flattering to the figure. Love the ornate cuff too! Mixing and matching wardrobe pieces makes me not regret the occasional splurge for a piece, but when I find a real deal that I can wear several ways, I feel like a winner. Thanks for all the ideas! You keep my fashion pulse beating!
