My love for wearing layers runs deep. There’s almost always a scarf or chambray top in my tote bag and this season I’ve been OBSESSED with jeans vests! There’s just so many reasons to love and I literally find myself adding this vest to nearly every outfit — talk about versatile. Adding a little coverage, style and warmth makes this a must-have item in my wardrobe. I pair it over tight dresses to make a little modest, over more dressy looks to give a daytime feel, and also love that it to hide bra straps for those dresses and tops that never seem to fit quite right or stay in place.
Seeing as a jean vest inspires me to ramble about my past outfits, it’s the Dare to Wear Item of the Month! I’ll be showcasing two more looks this month on the blog featuring this gem and will be snapping Instagram pictures in it as well.
Style Tips
Use the vest to cover up. My homemade crop top can come off a little skimpy with low-rise, ripped jeans but works thanks to the vest.
Make your own infinity scarf by wrapping around your neck and then tuck ends into the scarf to secure.
Pop the collar. I’ll likely repeat this tip again and again, but a little pop in the back polishes the look.
Add color in accessories. I skipped jewelry for this look and used the scarf and sneakers to work in color.

DARE TO WEAR: a blog series dedicated to “dare to wear” the same thing three weeks in a row. If you’re gonna buy it, you better be able to wear it at least three ways, right? Each month a new item is featured and will be styled three ways over three weeks. Photos by Audrey Gallagher.

I got them from one of the cheap/trendy stores years ago. Brand is called Almost Famous.
