There is a haute event going on tomorrow night and you so need to be there! It’s called Glendi (meaning “party” in Greek) and it’s going to be off the hook!!

What’s the inspiration for the event?
Glendi is the Greek word for “party” or “celebration.” Noel Zayas Events is producing Glendi, which is Opa’s weekly Thursday party. The inspiration was to create a Grecian street fair vibe featuring arts and entertainment, music and fashion. June 9 is the first installment of the weekly event.
What can we expect (any details about the fashions or models and entertainment)?
You can expect an outrageous night! We are closing down Sansom Street between 13th and Broad and turning the black top into a runway with models from House of Talent PA and music by Philadelphia’s premier DJ, DJ Rahsaan.Who’s involved?
Glendi will feature collections from Philadelphia’s most renowned designers and boutiques including Carmelita Couture showing Resort Collection; and Priscilla Costa showing Summer 2012 Collection. Also on the Glendi runway: Commonwealth Proper, Matthew Izzo, Rock and Soul Apparel Company.Models will carry sought-after Nahui Ollin handbags and footwear fashion by Bus Stop Shoes. Modern Eye will provide eyewear for the show. Hair and makeup will be beautifully crafted by the city’s best – hair by Follicle Studio and Charlie Salon; and makeup by Susan Sorrell Makeup.
