If you’re like us and follow all your favorite bloggers, magazine editors, stylists, and fashionable peeps on Instagram, then your Sunday AM feed was probably Target overload. I’m pretty sure there we 15 pics in a row from various users of that same yellow 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Satchel. Yes, if you haven’t figured it out yet, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target launched over the weekend and fashionistas (and fashionistos) celebrated by flooding their carts with limited-edition pieces from Target.
It only seemed proper to make this week’s Trendy vs Spendy be match between the same designer. While these bags may not be identical, both say 3.1 Phillip Lim (although one says “for Target” right after) and both are total “it” bags (the kind of bag that attracts all the compliments, while also complimenting nearly all your ensembles).

Okay, let’s compare the details. Both come with a strap, have gold hardware, and have zipper sides for expanding and changing the bag shape. That $650 bag may be pretty freaking fabulous, but you gotta admit it’s $35 diffusion sister is gorgeous too!
Target may have been a mad house on Sunday, but there’s still hope. Even though this bag isn’t sold online it may be in your Target, well depending how popular your Target is and if your area goes cray-cray for budget fashion. I’m going to ask my mom to look at my Target back home in Northeast PA. It’s actually a very fashionable area, but I have a feeling there’s some finds left.
