Even though I’m not in school anymore, this time of year always reminds me of back to school season. With that comes new responsibilities and challenges…which can be super stressful. Incorporating a few wellness-y things can help relieve that. It’s also fall, so the temps are dropping, making it a perfect time to change up your workout routine, try a new recipe, or test out a beauty trend. Here are { five things wellness } to try during this cooler, windier season.

trendhungry.com wellness roundup

1. Indoor Cycling

Over the summer I was doing ton of walking and outdoor yoga. Workouts during these cooler months are kind of tough for me, so I like being inside. Something that I’ve been wanting to try out is indoor cycling. It sounds like the perfect low impact, intense, and cardio-filled exercise. Many cycling studios play upbeat music, which always makes a workout fun.

{ Try SoulCycle, FlyWheel Sports, or your local gym might even carry classes. }

2. Dry Brushing

I got my very first dry brush! It takes about a minute and I dry brush my body three times a week. According to Mind Body Green, dry brushing benefits include exfoliating, reducing toxins, and may even reduce the appearance of cellulite. Dry brushing also makes me feel renewed and refreshed, which may be thanks to another benefit, increased circulation.

3. The Green Beauty Rules

If you’re looking to green your beauty routine, I completely recommend Paige Padgett’s new book, The Green Beauty Rules. Paige is Jillian Michael’s makeup artist and in her new book, she shows that it’s easy being both glam and green.

4. Organic Popsicles

I don’t think it’s ever too cold to eat a popsicle. I find myself eating popsicles and ice cream way more during the colder months. Weird, but so tasty. Anyway, I found this amazing organic popsicle brand. Most popsicles are full of artificial everything. If you have a sweet tooth and you’re looking for a better way to satisfy your cravings, try GoodPops — these popsicles are organic, vegan, and contain no refined sugars.

5. DIY Acai Smoothie Bowls

I’ve been looking forward to breakfast because of these gorgeous smoothie bowls. All you need is a blender, one frozen banana, acai berry powder, almond milk, and some toppings, such as chia seeds, nuts, and fresh fruit. Depending on your toppings, acai smoothie bowls can be packed with super foods and nutrients. My favorite add ins? Goji berries, coconut flakes, chia seeds, bananas, and raspberries. Acai berries have many health benefits too — they’re good for your heart, promotes skin health, and aids digestion.

{ Recipe: Blend one frozen banana, 2 tablespoons of acai berry powder, 1/4 cup almond milk. Then, pour into a bowl and sprinkle toppings. Enjoy! }
