Put down those Pumpkin Spice lattes and prepare to be pampered by everyone’s favorite fall fruit (yes, it’s a fruit!). Fall really translates into pumpkin everything, so why not add skin-saving, gold mine to the long list of yummy uses?
I’m here to introduce you to your new favorite face mask, perfect for replenishing skin after the brutal summer sun. “The Pumpkin Pamper,” as I have so cleverly named it, contains only four ingredients and can be made in seconds. Let’s get started.
What You’ll Need and Why:
- 3/4 cup of 100% pumpkin puree (it’s much easier to just buy a can of this stuff, but be mindful to check the label and only buy if there are no added chemicals or ingredients). Why? Pumpkin is bursting with Vitamin A, C, and Zinc, which help replenish and heal damaged skin.
- 1/4 cup “live” yogurt. Why? Enzymes in live cultured yogurt kill unwanted bacteria, which helps to unclog pores and treat acne.
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Why? EVOO is rich in Vitamin A & E which help to soothe and smooth tired skin
- 1 tbsp organic honey. Why? Honey is full of antioxidants, which help to reverse sun damage by eliminating free radicals caused by overexposure to the elements.
Mix all ingredients together (by hand) in a small bowl. Pumpkin is best absorbed when used on moist skin, so I recommend applying this mask right after the shower while your skin is still damp. For better results, hop out of the shower and crank the hot water to create a steamy bathroom. The humidity will open up pores, which will allow for best absorption.
Apply mask and wait 10-12 minutes. The longer it stays on the better!
