If you stalk my life out like I hope you do (wink, wink, follow me on Instagram!) then you know I’ve been changing up my hair a lot lately. Over the summer I got highlights and a trim, then more lights and a little more length off via my sneak peek at ARS Lab. And now with HopeCuts right around the corner I decided to do it again and this time went for a long bob Topper’s Salon & Spa.
I’m telling you this because if you’re thinking of switching up your hair, now is the time! Not only is it a time for a new ‘do, but you may also snag a discount while helping a worthy cause. This Sunday, September 15, 2013 (and other select dates), 100+ salons and spas in PA, DE, NJ, DC, VA (and beyond) will donate 100% of the proceeds from haircuts (and other services) to help fight cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes and other life threatening illnesses.
Yup, salon and spa employees will open shop on their day off to volunteer their time and many salons will offer deep discounts, makeover, beauty baskets, door prizes, entertainment, complimentary refreshments and much more.
HopeCuts” began 18 years ago and has raised over $4 million dollars. The event began in 1995 when a local cosmetology school opened their doors and dedicated an entire Saturday to raise funds for cancer and HIV/AIDS research at City of Hope. It’s really taken off and today, “HopeCuts” events are held at hundreds of high-end salons across the country.
Sounds like a good time to switch up you hair or even book a mani/pedi. To find out what salons & spas are participating in your area visit www.cityofhope.org.
I still can’t believe I chopped my locks, but am LOVING this look. It makes every outfit look more chic – seriously! It also goes great with cat-eye sunnies and a poker face – very Posh Spice. Thank Toppers!!
