Retail Review: Convertible LBD Now on SALE

When you’re on a skinny budget you gotta make the most out of your wardrobe, so that’s why I’m a big fan of basics. A little black dress, turned tunic, turned top? That’s three basics in one!

Revelation By Me recently sent me a convertible dress to try out. I gotta say, at first I was like “I don’t really know if I like this,” but then I got creative!

The tag displayed three ways to wear, and they were cool, but not necessarily my style. I played dress up and now, I’m all about this LB (convertible) D.

Look 1 – Cocktail Hour

To achieve this look I added length by letting out the draw strings on the sides. For the neckline I crossed the lace straps over my bust and twisted. I then wrapped the twisted straps around my neck and tucked. I think this neckline classes up the look creates a visually-interested effect – no necklaces required! I feel very Charlotte from Sex & the City. You agree?

Look 2 – Island Escape

This is a super comfortable and effortless look. I wrapped lace straps around my waistline (giving me more of an hourglass look) and pulled side draw strings up a little for a shorter hemline. I pair with an island-vibe necklace (parent’s bought for me on their cruise) and a wooden bangle. I was wearing turquoise sandals too.

Look 3 – After Hours

This look is my fave and will be worn often! I pulled the draw strings all the way in, tied and tucked. For the straps, I simply made it like a halter, but let the excess hang over my shoulders.

This is perfect for hitting the club, out for drinks with your girls or even a hot date. I paired with white jeans for a summertime edge, but would also want to try top with a wide -leg light wash or black cigarette jeans and block heels for a streamline look.

At first I thought $90 was a little high ( I’m on a very skinny budget!). Now that I’ve modeled my new dress I think $90 is more than fair. It’s so versatile, and comfortable! If you’re going on a vacay this is the must-have item. It’s perfect for the indecisive fashionista. You won’t have to overpack, but have one piece for whatever you end up doing!
