Hi everyone, I’m Kara from Sprinkles in Springs! After graduating with my BFA in Graphic Design, I wanted to find a way to merge my two loves, fashion and design, into one creative outlet and connect with like-minded people. So, my blog was born and now I share favorite fashion trends, personal style, nail art, DIY projects and do the occasional fashion illustration. I love finding a good deal and sharing where to find the designer looks for less, or recreating the look yourself with a fun DIY project.
I like keeping an eye on the runway for the latest designer trends, while always keeping in mind practicality and versatility – that doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes get carried away by something as fabulous as a Miu Miu glitter bootie!
I like to refresh my memory by flipping through a great magazine like Lucky or Harper’s Bazaar before I go out shopping. Keeping a designer wishlist on file also helps you decide what to look for when shopping so you can find something similar. That makes it so much easier to stay on track. I love stores like Zara, H&M and Forever 21 for trendy pieces. Sometimes you can also find good quality classic pieces on a budget if you are great at weeding through the racks. I just found these cute Rag & Bone inspired ankle boots at H&M for only $35. If you’re crafty, it’s very easy to find inspiration for DIYs by looking through runway shots and then sourcing materials from your local craft and thrift/consignment stores.
