Hey, fabulous Trend Hungry readers! It’s Katelyn here from www.theskinnyblondegirl.com, a blog that offers a chic Canadian perspective on personal style, makeup, beauty, and just about everything in between. I’m so honored to be posting today on Trend Hungry and am very excited to share with you some online shopping advice and the latest deals I’ve scoped out on my favorite shopping sites.

When I’m shopping online, I always hit up the sale and clearance sections first. While shopping in store is fun, I love that I can grab my favorite trends without breaking the bank and without leaving my couch. I usually stick to neutrals because A) I have a weakness for anything black and white and B) they’re way less likely to go out of style within the next few seasons.

My go-to online shopping sites, and the ones with the best virtual sales racks in my opinion, are ASOS, Boohoo, LOVE, Lulus, Solestruck, and Topshop. These sites are a trend seeker’s paradise and give you instant access to the hottest trends of London, New York City, and other fashion hubs we dream of no matter where you live.

I have three tips to offer you, and they’re the same three pieces of advice I give any of my friends before they jump online and start browsing.

1. Have a budget. Items bought online are bought with real money, even if you’re not swiping your debit card or handing over bills to a cashier. Knowing how much you can afford to spend and planning your purchases accordingly will help you avoid a panic attack when your credit card statement arrives. Oh, and don’t forget to check the return policy!

2. Check how much shipping will cost before you fall in love with anything. Usually you can do this by checking their “shipping” or “customer service” page, but you can also just throw a few items in the shopping cart and start the checkout process to see what happens. If you find a killer top for $10 but shipping is going to be another $9.99, suddenly your steal isn’t so great after all.

3. Try to shop when you’re alert and attentive. Midnight shopping sprees can be exhilarating and a way to counteract boredom, but you’re more likely to overspend or pick up items you won’t feel the same about in the morning. I do some of my best online shopping first thing in the morning after a big cup of coffee… much to my boss’ dismay!

Anyway, let’s get to the fun stuff. Here are a couple stylish steals I’ve been eyeing lately.

LOVE Animal Print Chiffon Long Sleeve Wrap, $30 Inlovewithfashion.com: This animal print wrap dress is fierce for winter paired with opaque black tights and boots, but will also work throughout spring matched with pastel colored jewelry and ballet flats.

Y.R.U. Lofw Black Cat print Smoking Slipper Flats, $48 Lulus.com: Cat faced flats have been popping up on just about every European blog I read, and I’ve seen a few on some of my favorite American bloggers too. I figure, if I can get in on the trend at a bargain under $50, I’ll give just about anything a try – within reason.

Well, that’s it from me! I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a peek inside my addiction for online shopping. I’d like to thank you for reading my post, and would like to thank Jessie for the awesome opportunity to chat with you lovely ladies and gents today. Happy sale shopping!
