This past week we all witnessed the killer punk-inspired fashion at this year’s Met Gala, which was held to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring exhibition titled “PUNK: Chaos to Couture.” Aside from a few outrageous and head-scratching looks, ahem, Kim Kardashian, the red carpet was filled with everything from dark lipstick to fixed faux-hawks to all studded everything.

We’ve picked out our top eye-catching, punk-inspired beauty looks that are bound to attract even the most prim and proper ladies out there.

Karli Kloss’ Grungy Eyes

This supermodel does grungy chic makeup so perfectly. It’s that lived in, I don’t care look that can be effortless and beautiful at the same time. By using a gray shadow and kohl liner and smudging it along the top and bottom lash lines, you too can get achieve her rockstar eyes. Burgundy muted lips add to her grungy/pretty vibe.

Kristen Stewart’s Matching Makeup

Recently declared Glamour UK’s best dressed woman (how did that happen?!?!), Kristen switched up her usual deep side part and heavy black liner for a fun up-do and a maroon smoky eye, which just so happened to match her Stella McCartney jumpsuit perfectly, and surprisingly doesn’t look the least bit overwhelming. Her famous “I could care less” smirk was very present, and might we add very punk (and very Vampire).

Ginnifer Goodwin’s Dramatic Eyes

Ginny laid on the smokiest of eyes and strongest brows for her super edgy, strong, and stunning look. Her makeup, together with her spikey short ‘do helped her nail the “chaos to couture” theme perfectly. Note she kept her lips and face nude so to keep all the focus on her fierce eyes.

Elle Fanning’s Colorful Crash Course

Picture 15 Taking notes from David Bowie, Elle showed up rocking the colored eye shadow look (the punked out version, of course). Initially I was a bit shocked, but I actually wound up loving her look. Maybe a bit too extreme for everyday, but if you cut the shadow off before it leaves the boundaries of your lid, it’s a totally doable look! Her half-up, half-down lightly tousled hair, porcelain skin and edgy ear cuff are perfectly punky-pretty.

Rooney Mara’s Dark Lip

The girl with the dragon tattoo turned goth glam at the gala, sporting a daring dark lip. While dark lips are sometimes very tricky to pull off, Rooney makes it look completely pulled together and extremely sexy. Her slicked back hair and perfectly constructed brows add to the edgy, cool vibe.

Anne Hathaway’s Punky Platinum Pixie

anna hathaway met gala 2013 Can I tell you how happy I am that Anne Hathaway went platinum!? This classically punk hue makes Anne’s features pop (love the bold brow, blonde hair trend) and the tousled long pixie is such a fun cut for summer. Work it girl.

SJP’s Mohawk Headpiece

Is there anything more punk than a Mohawk? SJP went all out with a headpiece that stood almost a foot high! Her locks were wrapped up in a fishtail up-do and makeup was kept clean and simple. We love that hair accessories are coming back in a big way (ok maybe not mohawk big), but you can totes rock this trend by adding a little touch to your everyday look.

A headpiece look we are totally coveting for an anytime look is Sienna Miller’s studded half clip.

 Gorg!
