As the famous and adored September issues are known for their super-sized page counts, we all know the real bulk is in the ads. After all, September issues are for the consumer to use as their Fall fashion bibles, right? But the ads don’t stop there. From TV, to billboards, to Instagram and even Vine, fashion ads are everywhere you look and we’re here to hand out awards for our faves.
Best Girl Gang: ZARA
This ad makes us want to hang with these girls, shop with these girls, and be these girls. The matching hats and all black ensembles adds to the badass-ness.
Most Likely to Make You Want to Go to School: TOMMY HILFIGER DENIM
College prep king Tommy Hilfiger is known for his classic Americana group ads, but this year’s TH Denim ad is making us feel nostalgically collegiate.
Most Creative (or Most Likely to Make You Go WTF?….): KENZO
Kenzo always exhibits funky and fresh designs and patterns, and this time this eccentric personality goes beyond the runway and onto ads. Bugs, pins, mini-people, tweezers? Nightmare? Brillance? Not sure what to call them, but these ads sure grabbed our attention.
Best Celeb Cameo: TIE!! LOUIS VUITTON, MICHELLE WILLIAMS and JIMMY CHOO, NICOLE KIDMAN
I love a good celeb cameo, and as Michelle Williams and Nicole Kidman show us, their talents go far beyond the silver screen. Absolutely flawless, we couldn’t pick one!
Best Couple: TOM STURRIDGE AND SIENNA MILLER, BURBERRY
Okay, no words are really needed here. LOOK AT THESE TWO! Simply beautiful.
Best Designer Cameo: JASON WU (JASON WU AND CHRISTY TURLINGTON)
While most designers don’t feature themselves in ads (ahem, except Marc Jacobs), Jason Wu went for it and nailed it. It looks like Wu and Turlington were just hanging out having a fun lunch and someone happened to snap a shot of them (which may very well be the case here). Definitely makes me want to hang with Jason Wu.
Most Featured Model: CARA DELEVINGNE (MULBERRY, DKNY, FENDI, SAINT LAURENT)
It’s quite obvious Ms. Delevingne (still practicing on my pronunciation) is the new IT girl. She’s nailed the pout, the stare, and those eyebrows!
Most Glamorous: DIOR
The location, the clothes, the makeup, the hair, everything about Dior seems to always scream classic glamour, and this Fall campaign brought all of these elements together in an almost magical looking scene.
Best by Budget Retailer: H&M
The epitome of effortless beauty, Gisele Bundchen, showcases H&M’s Fall line in a simple, chic, very Brit-inspired ad.
Best Shoe Ad: STUART WEITZMAN
Clean black and whites keep our eyes on those amazing boots the whole time. Want.Want.Want.
Most Popular/Crowd Favorite/Best Ad/TH FAVE: TOM FORD
Every since Jay decided to rock Tom Ford, it seems like everyone else does too. Whether you’re a newbie or die-hard Ford fan, we can all agree this campaign is killer. Simple, yet bold; busy, yet pulled together, Ford pulled off the perfect campaign. The 80s themed colors, perfectly posed same trio of models, simple white backgrounds, the list goes on. I can’t find anything I don’t like about this campaign. What do you think?
Now it’s your turn to weigh in. What ad was your absolute favorite? Share in the comments below!
