Animal, floral , polka dots, stripes, paisley and plaid prints; who would think they can all work together? Mixing different prints  is one of the biggest up-and-coming trends and seems to have no boundaries – just pick your favorite prints and start mixing, but do that, and you may end up looking homeless or literally crazy.  You want to stand out and be mistaken for a celebrity, like Whitney Port  (pre bad financial press) or Diane Kruger, not look like you’re a regular at the local soup kitchen. Be chic, not crazy. Here are some safe starting options to wearing a print or two you probably already own. Stay tuned. This trend will have a few installments, sure to make you a mixing master!

Lace + Spots: Lace is one of those prints that’s usually only one color and actually acts a as a neutral – meaning it’s subtle enough to mix with many types of prints – but not all at once. Tru it out with a polka dot pairing.  Make sure the prints are colors and combinations will pop! 

Florals + Leather: The naughty/nice combo is easy to achieve with leather and floral. Pair a floral top with leather pants or shorts. It gives a day-and-night feel all in one outfit.

Pale Knits + Brights: Pale knits on bright denim is a simple-chic option for the print-on-print beginner. Wearing two colors doesn’t technically constitute as a prints, but it’s a unique pairing that works that unexpected, but works..  The sharper the contrast, the more impactful the look!
